Massive Week Of Metal In Sweden!
March 10, 2005Heavy Metal did itself proud in Sweden this week, with JUDAS PRIEST achieving their highest world chart placing to date after "Angel of Retribution" landed at No. 3. Stiff competition came from domestic heroes HAMMERFALL, whose "Chapter V: Unbent, Unbowed, Unbroken" followed close behind at No. 4. Also debuting on the chart are PARADISE LOST, whose self-titled opus came in at No. 21. Meanwhile, CRADLE OF FILTH's "Nymphetamine: Special Edition" re-relase put the band back in the charts at No. 23 and outperformed the original CD. The standard edition of "Nymphetamine" only made it to No. 42 in September 2004.
The most remarkable thing about this week's charts though is the slew of re-entries, possibly as a result of JUDAS PRIEST and HAMMERFALL fans also picking up other relatively new records during their trip to the local record store:
#3 - JUDAS PRIEST – "Angel of Retribution"
#4 - HAMMERFALL – "Chapter V; Unbent, Unbowed, Unbroken"
#21 - PARADISE LOST – "Paradise Lost"
#22 - CRADLE OF FILTH – "Nymphetamine: Special Edition"
#28 - SOILWORK – "Stabbing the Drama"
#37 - DARK TRANQUILLITY – "Character" (Re-entry)
#38 - KREATOR – "Enemy of God" (Re-entry)
#39 - MASTERPLAN – "Aeronautics" (Re-entry)
